Athletes Results and Commendations
St. George’s, GRENADA – The Grenada Athletics Association (GAA) extends sincere congratulations to Anderson Peters on his outstanding accomplishment in the Men’s Javelin at the Doha Diamond league where he threw 93.07 meters. Peter’s achievement has earned him the Area Record, National Record, and World Leading performance in the event. Most importantly, his performance is the fifth furthest throw ever recorded.
In congratulating Anderson, Mr. Conrad Francis stated that “The sight of the javelin soaring high into the twinkling Doha skies and dropping beyond 93.00 meters was a beautiful and unforgettable one.” He further stated that “This is a true testimony of the hard work you put into your preparation.”
The GAA also congratulates Kirani James for his outstanding performance at the Ponce Invitational in Puerto Rico, where he completed the 400 meters in 44.70 seconds.
Further commendations to national record holder Josh Boateng on winning the discus throw at the Martinique Invitational with a throw of 58.45 meters and sprinter Nathaniel Mark for placing 2nd at the 2022 May Classic Meet in Barbados. Nathanel completed the 100 meters in a time of 10.72 meters.
Finally, congratulations to the following athletes on notable performances:
- Markim Felix finished 2nd in the javelin at the Big 12 Championships with a throw of 70.72 meters
- Johann Jeremiah finished 3rd with a throw of 16.90 meters in the shot-put event at the AAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships
- Gamali Felix finished 6th in the 400 meters at the NCAA Pac 12 Conference Championship with a personal best time of 46.07 secs. He also assisted Arizona State University to finish 3rd in a time of 3:05.53 secs.
The GAA is extremely proud of these achievements, which are indicative of your dedication, hard work and perseverance. We encourage you to continue fine-tuning your craft as you prepare for your various competitions and as the season progresses.
