For the first time since 2019, bankers and financial services professionals from the Caribbean will meet face-to-face to address the issues confronting the industry, and to chart the way forward for the region. Scores of C-suite executives and directors from dozens of organisations will meet in Miami, Florida, USA for the Caribbean Association of Banks (CAB) Inc. CEO & Directors’ Forum 2022. The theme of this year’s gathering, June 10-11, is Banking For The Future.

The Forum will incorporate a Training Day, during the course of which attendees will be able to benefit from one of two very important streams. Cybersecurity for the Financial Services Sector will be facilitated by Mr. Anthony Subero and Mr. Daniel Gaudreau of Hitachi Systems Security Inc., whilst The Business Case for CX will be led by Ms. Lisa-Maria Alexander, CEO and Chief Strategist of The Leadership Xperience.

The plenary will be led off by a keynote from visionary human rights advocate and social entrepreneur, Ms. Rani Hong. Ms. Hong, a survivor of child trafficking, is one of the world’s leading voices in the fight against modern-day slavery. Along with Mr. Loxly Ricketts of the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force, Ms. Hong will examine the topic of Human Trafficking and Finance – The Link Explored.

Technology, climate resilience, and governance will come into focus throughout the day, with panel discussions and presentations on such matters as Intra-Regional Payments – The Way Forward, Environmental, Social & Governance – State of Readiness?, Banking Strategy – A Need for Diversification, From Strategy to Execution, and Cybersecurity – Alerts, Trends and Responses.

Presenters will include subject matter experts and thought leaders such as Mr. Christopher Louard of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank; Mr. Carlos Pontes from Mastercard; Ms. Philomena Lee of the Eastern Caribbean Automated Clearing House Services Inc.; Dr. James Fletcher, Soloricon Ltd; Ms. Leesa Kow, JN Bank Ltd.; Mr. Rendra Gopee, Resilience Partners; Ms. Tanya C. McCartney, Bahamas Financial Services Board; Ms. Gina Matthew, Ernst & Young Services Limited; Mr. Anthony Subero, Hitachi Systems Security; Mr. Clark Russel, IBIS Management Associates; and Mr. David Schwartz, FIBA.

It is anticipated that the comprehensive two-day programme being offered by CAB, the representative body and recognised voice for the Caribbean financial services sector, will deliver a knowledge-rich conference experience that will support attendees from every corner of the region as they seek to rise to the challenges and opportunities of a new decade. The organisation is also preparing for its annual Conference, which again is expected to be in-person. CAB Conference 2022 is being planned for October in Saint Lucia.
