Chronixx Returns to Grenada With ‘Chronology’ After Four-year Stint
St. George’s, Grenada – September 13, 2017: International music sensation Chronixx and his band, the Zinc Fence Redemption, will return to Grenada for the first time in four years in a highly anticipated hallmark event staged by Sunshine Promotions on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the National Cricket Stadium.
Delivering on the promise of an encore Chronixx concert, Sunshine Promotions has crafted a signature event titled Chronology, named after his debut album, which will be held in November, just one month ahead of their annual ‘Ah December to Remember’ concert. The production will feature Chronixx and the Zinc Fence Redemption, accompanied by other regional and local acts, as a special presentation to his Grenadian fans. It has been four years since Chronixx last performed in the Spice Island and this event promises to be one for the history books.
Jamaican recording artiste Jamar Ronaldo McNaughton, popularly known as Chronixx, and his band the Zinc Fence Redemption, made his debut performance in Grenada only two years following the release of his debut EP. Sunshine Promotions, a promotion company known for hosting dynamic stage productions, featured Chronixx and his band live in concert along with Tarrus Riley, Jamaican recording artiste and a mix of Grenadian artistes, for their calendar event ‘Ah December to Remember’ in 2013.
His ascension in the Jamaican music industry reverberated throughout the region and was immediately recognized by Ian St. Bernard, Founder, Sunshine Promotions Grenada. “I am always listening for emerging music acts. Also, being involved in entertainment for so many years I have an ear for picking up on hit -makers. I knew immediately, after listening to Chronixx, that I wanted to stage a show introducing him to local music lovers,” St. Bernard said recently.
His lyrics centred on resilience, peace and romantic declarations resonated with the Grenadian audience and since then, music lovers island-wide have been clamouring for his return. As the now internationally acclaimed artiste continues to share his music in live concerts across the world and considering the recent release of his much-awaited debut album ‘Chronology’ on July 7, 2017, Grenadians wondered whether they would see the return of one of their favourites, in recent times.
The anticipation heighted as Chronixx continued to release singles and musical projects while performing at sold out concerts from the Americas to the Oceanic region, including Trinidad, New York, Canada, London and Australia.
“It has taken us quite some time to secure an encore concert with Chronixx, especially given his steady rise to international stardom. However, we have maintained a good relationship with him and his team, as we do with all our featured acts, and Chronixx was adamant on making time for a return to Grenada,” St. Bernard shared. “It took a lot of negations on both ends especially since we thought it ideal to feature him in one of our already established calendar events. However, when you are working with the schedule of an artiste such as Chronixx, sometimes you have to make an exception and grasp the date that works for him.” St. Bernard continued.
St. Bernard also shared that the special event will not affect the staging of “Ah December to Remember”, the Sunshine Promotions’ annual event which will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at the National Cricket Stadium.
