Conference League Finals and Big 4 Update
CONFERENCE LEAGUE
TAMCC are the GFA National Conference League champions for 2016 following their 2-1 defeat of Sab Spartans at Fond on Saturday. Both TAMCC and Sab Spartans will be playing Premier League football in 2017. TAMCC’s 2 goals came from Stephen Williams (10′) and Darryl Cyrus(78′). Sab’s goal came from Kishon Williams in the 51st minute.
In the third place playoff, Eagles Super Strikers and North Stars faced off for the third time this season and for the third time Eagles won that contest 1 goal to nil. Eagles will now enter the promotion/relegation playoff with Fontenoy United who have faced relegation for a number of consecutive years. The first of the home and away promotion/relegation playoff between Fontenoy and Eagles Super Strikers is carded for Thursday 15th December at Fond at 5pm.
NB: The promotion/relegation playoff between GBSS and Chantimelle SC carded for Sunday 11th December has been postponed until further notice.
PREMIER LEAGUE BIG 4
Hard Rock FC remain in fine form delivering a 3-0 thumping to St.John’s Sports on Sunday at Cuthbert Peters Park in the GFA Big 4. It was a hattrick for Denron Daniel who scored in the 76th ,78th and 87th minutes. After 2 rounds, Hard Rock was second on the table while St.Johns Sports was third.
The idea of the Big 4 was to have the top 4 teams after 2 rounds of competition, head to a planned final where the 2016 GFA Premier League Champions would be crowned.
NB: Paradise FC who were top of the table and Mt.Rich Sc who finished 4th did not show-up to their match at Victoria Park in the other scheduled Big 4 fixture on Sunday.
