CSIRT Investigates Fraudulent Calls to NaDMA Volunteers
St. George’s, Grenada – It has been brought to the attention of the National Disaster Management Agency (NaDMA) that bad actors are attempting to compromise the WhatsApp numbers of members of one of our district committees’ group chats.
The bad actor/s placed telephone calls to some numbers of the group chat requesting a code that enabled them to join a training exercise put on by NaDMA.
The National Disaster Management Agency informs everyone that there are no training exercises that will require any code and that they should not accede to any such request. Doing so can result in the account holder losing control of their account.
Please note that this is a fraudulent attempt, and the Agency urges all NaDMA volunteers and the public alike to be extremely cautious and refuse to reveal any code they receive from anyone for any reason.
Please note that NaDMA has taken all precautionary measures to protect its volunteers and its name and has contacted the National Cyber Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) which has investigated the matter and will inform the public accordingly.
