Dia Forrester Appointed As Grenada’s New Attorney General
ST. GEORGE’S DEC. 31, 2020 – GIS: Ms. Dia C. Forrester will commence duties as the newly appointed Attorney General from January 1, 2021. She is the first female to be appointed Attorney General in Grenada.
Ms. Forrester served as the Solicitor General of Grenada from April 2019 to December 2020. Mr. Darshan Ramdhani, the outgoing Attorney General demits office today, after serving in that capacity since January 2019.
Commencing her legal career on being called to the Bar in Grenada in 2008, Ms. Forrester has a distinguished legal career, working locally and in other regional countries including St. Kitts & Nevis and Anguilla where she held the position of Partner in the prominent civil and commercial law firm Daniel Brantley. She brings to the position a wealth of experience in complex financial transactions and major litigation matters.
Ms. Forrester holds a Master of Laws degree in International Banking and Finance Law from University College London, a Legal Education Certificate of Merit from the Hugh Wooding Law School and a Bachelor of Laws Degree with Honours from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus.
Ms. Forrester has served Grenada in other fora being a former national table tennis player and OECS table tennis team champion.
