Division of Youth Plans to Make Open Day a Regular Event in Carriacou
Hillsborough, Carriacou, May 16th, 2021- Organisers of an open day in Carriacou which provided information on scholarships, job opportunities and the programmes offered by the Ministry of Youth Development, are planning to make the educational session a regular feature.
It was hosted by the Division of Youth in the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs & Local Government.
Youth Officer Georgina Ray said the one day event at the Division’s office in Hillsborough, was held to ensure that young people in Carriacou and Petite Martinique are fully aware of the many opportunities available to them.
Ray said this activity will also be a guide to help young people seeking to advance their career, with more than 180 of them now involved in The New Imani Programme.
The Youth Division recently hosted a panel discussion looking at the impacts of digital technology, the electronics crimes’ law and the cybercrimes’ act. Panelists included Attorney George Prime, Sgt. Francesa Noel of the Royal Grenada Police Force, Shaky Cornwall of the Legal Aid and Counselling Clinic, and former educator Harrison Fleary.
