Driver Charged in Fatal Accident
The driver of the vehicle involved in the October 27th 2019 fatal accident that claimed the life of George Ettienne Jones, 72 years, of La Sagesse, St. David has been charged.
Jovas Mann, Prison Officer, of La Sagesse, St. David was charged on Monday 22nd June, 2020 with Causing Death by Dangerous Driving. He was granted bail in the sum of $30-thousand dollars with two sureties. As part of his bail conditions he also has to surrender all travel documents and seek permission from the court to leave the state.
He will appear at the St. David Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday 24th June, 2020.
Meanwhile, seventeen (17) civilian staff are now formal members of the Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF).
The appointees, thirteen (13) females and four (4) males took their oath of office as Rural Constables on Monday 22nd June, 2020 during a brief ceremony at Police Headquarters, Fort George.
One other person who was previously a Rural Constable was appointed as a police officer.
Acting Commissioner of Police Edvin Martin in congratulating the newly sworn members of the RGPF encouraged them to do their best and be professional in their duties.
