Gamali Felix Makes History
By Mike Baptiste
Gamali Felix made history once again by becoming the fifth fastest Grenadian athlete over 400m. Only Kirani James, Bralon Taplin, Alleyne Francique and Rondell Barthlomew have recorded faster times.
This was accomplished at the NCAA West Prelims in Fayetteville, Arkansas where he ran a new Personal Best time of 45.18 seconds this past Friday (May 27th).
He is now one of only eleven athletes who are qualified to represent his school, Arizona State University at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Most recently he represented Grenada at the Pan American Junior (U23) Games where he placed 4th in the finals of the Men’s 400m. He was also the 2021 NJCAA Indoor Men 400m Champion, a title he captured for his former school, Barton Community College.
Gamali is a former student of the Grenada Boys’ Secondary School and represented Grenada on two occasions at the Carifta Games where he won a Silver Medal in Triple Jump in 2016.
Before leaving for the US he trained with the South City Rising Stars Track Club under the guidance of Head Coach Lee Cuffie.
