GFNC National Nutrition Quiz Results
Bonair Government School walked away with a challenge trophy and prizes after winning the inaugural National Primary Nutrition Quiz with 60 points. 2nd place went to St. Giles Anglican Primary School, 55 points. Paraclete Government School, took 3rd spot after defeating St. Andrew’s R.C. School in a sudden death, tie-breaker round. 9 primary schools competed in the quiz which was held last Wednesday May 26th at the Deluxe Cinema, Grenville.
In the Secondary competition, Bishop’s College secured their 7th win with 87 ½ points. The school had 6 consecutive wins from 2012 to 2017. They lost the title to McDonald College, who won in 2018 & 2019. There was no competition in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Placing 2nd was J.W. Fletcher Catholic Secondary School on 70 points and 3rd, Grenville Secondary School on 65 points. Defending champions, McDonald College settled for 4th. Four secondary schools competed in the quiz held last Thursday May 27th at the Youth Center, Grand-Anse. Bishop’s College walked away with a challenge trophy and individual prizes.
In both the primary and secondary competitions, prizes were awarded to students and teachers representing the top 3 schools. All participants received certificates of participation.
The National Nutrition Quiz is organized by the Grenada Food & Nutrition Council.
