By Lincoln DePradine
New appointments are to be made for the positions of a Grenada ambassador to Caricom and chairman of the Spicemas Corporation. Attorney Arley Gill, who held both positions, has resigned.
Gill, an ex-Minister of Culture in the NDC administration of former Prime Minister Tillman Thomas, chaired the 2022 Spicemas that culminated on August 13 with a street parade called “Au Revoir’’.
He was appointed Caricom ambassador by former Prime Minister Dr Keith Mitchell, the New National Party boss, who now is Leader of the Opposition in Parliament.
Gill also has step aside as chair of the committee that was planning activities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Grenada’s Independence in 2024.
However, Gill remains chairman of the Grenada National Reparations Committee. “The reparations fight is a life-long struggle,’’ he told the Barnacle.
