Grenada Goes for 12th OECS SWIM Title

Olympians Oreoluwa Cherebin and Corey Ollivierre head Grenada’s defense of the 2016 OECS Swim Championship in St. Vincent from the 9th-13th November 2016, with a 34 member strong team. Cherebin who placed second in her heats at Rio Olympics heads the female and Corey who had his season’s best times in his heats also at Rio heads the male category.
SWIM Team Grenada is ready to defend its’ 2015 title it won last year in Antigua, says Team Manager Peron Johnson and Head Coach Gerson Fernandez. Grenada will be going for its twelfth victory. The members of the team are: Oreoluwa Cherebin, Nixe Ogilvie, Corey Ollivierre, Chris Regis, Delron Felix, Kerry Ollivierre, Dejanel Williams, Simone La Qua, Gabrielle Paparo, Dandre Stephen, Thabo Antoine, Tyler John, Angelique Minors, Ena Noel, Geval Antoine, Jenebi Benoit, Jaydon Hyson, Zackary Greshem, Kimberely Ince, Mia Neckles, Kiyah Ramdhanny, Meeka Ollivierre, Parshawn Haynes, Joshua Wilson- Dumont, Kean Hoschialek, Gabrielle Hyson, Anika Charles, Arianne Clouden, Aidan Mc Intosh, Zack Holmes, Elliot Fletcher, Shelby Neckles, Sarah Dowden and Emma Mc Intosh.
The team is coached by Head Coach Gerson Fernandez and assistant coaches Carlton Simon and Chris Regis. The coaches feel that Grenada has a good chance of bringing home the OECS trophy even with the inclusion of power house Martinique. The team trains at the Good Hope Pool in St. Paul’s Monday to Saturday twice a day. Mornings 5: am to 6:30 am afternoons 4: pm to7:pm
