Indonesian Ambassador Presents Credentials to Governor-General of Grenada
The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Grenada, H.E. Imam Edy Mulyono, presented his credentials to the Governor-General of Grenada, H.E. Cécile La Grenade, at her residence in St. George’s, Grenada, on May 18th, 2022.
“It is important to note that both countries recorded an increase in trade last year amidst the pandemic. I believe today’s opportunity marks an important momentum in the strengthening the relations and cooperation between Indonesia and Grenada in the years to come,” said Ambassador Imam.
Moreover, Governor-General Cécile also congratulates Indonesia’s G-20 presidency and stressed Indonesia’s importance in the world economy nowadays. Governor-General Cécile also said, “I have faith that various cooperation with Indonesia may be improved in the future, especially in the economic and socio-cultural areas. Currently there are several students from Grenada studying in Indonesia through scholarships from the Government of Indonesia. Hopefully in the future there would be more Grenadians that will also get that kind of opportunity”.
Indonesia and Grenada have been well established since 1992. The two countries also mutually support each other’s candidacy on various occasions in multilateral fora. In addition to offering scholarships to Grenadians, Indonesia also provides various technical cooperation in several fields, including those related to disaster management and climate change issues.
Apart from presenting credentials, the working visit of Ambassador Imam was also marked by meetings with the Prime Minister of Grenada, Dr. the Rt Hon. Keith Mitchell, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Grenada, Hon. Oliver Joseph, on separate occasions.
