Mr. Killa to Perform in Support of Virtual ‘Walk For The Cure’ 2020
St. George, Grenada, 22nd, September 2020. Winner of the International Power Soca Monarch title in 2019, Grenada’s Mr Killa, will join his considerable talent to the regional line-up of performers for the first ever virtual Walk for the Cure and Concert of Hope event.
Due to COVID 19 restrictions the walk, which attracts thousands of participants, cannot take place in a physical forum on the islands across the region. However the pandemic poses even more challenges than ever for cancer sufferers, making the need for increased awareness even more crucial. With this in mind, CIBC FirstCaribbean has decided that it will not postpone the Walk for the Cure fundraising event, which has been gathering pace and support over the last eight years, instead the bank will host their first ever virtual Walk for the Cure and Concert of Hope, across their entire regional footprint.
Promoter 4D Entertainment, from Barbados, will be producing the event, for the bank on Sunday October 4th . The virtual event will bring together some thirteen popular regional performers and two DJs for a full three hours of entertainment that will also include energetic workout sessions from a number of top fitness coaches.
Regional performers include Mr. Vegas from Jamaica, Caribbean Queen of Soca Alison Hinds, from Barbados, Teddyson John from St. Lucia, Ricardo Drue hailing from Antigua, and from the Bahamas Julian Believe. The ever popular regional soca stars, namely past Road March winner Patrice Roberts out of Trinidad and 2019 St. Vincent Soca Monarch Skinny Fabulous, will also take part in the concert. Adding to the variety and bringing a different feel to the show will be King James from St. Maarten and Reinir Lijfrock from the island of Curacao.
The St. Andrews Development Organisation (SADO), will also be unable to stage their annual walk in support of the Pink Ribbon Society, but will sell their pink t shirts, to be worn on a designated date during the breast cancer awareness month of October. Both the Grenada Cancer Society and the Pink Ribbon Society will be recipients of funds raised for Walk for the Cure in Grenada.
Donations to the Walk for the Cure cancer awareness walk can still be made through TicketLinkz.com.
The online programme commences at 4p.m. and can be viewed by logging on to Faccebook.com/CIBCFCIB; Instagram.com/cibcfirstcaribbean; YouTube.com/user/CIBCFirstCaribbean; Caribvision and Zoom.
