The National Training Agency (NTA) is appealing to uncertified Beauty and Wellness practitioners classified under the Allied Health designation to become certified to meet the licensing requirements of the Allied Health Practitioners Act.

In this regard, the NTA will hold a public sensitization forum on Monday April 24, at 2:00
p.m. at the West Conference Room of the Kirani James Athletics Stadium to discuss with practitioners in the sector the implications of the Act.

Participants invited to attend are Massage Therapists, Spa/Beauty Therapists, Hair Stylists, Nail Technicians, Beauticians, Cosmetologists, Barbers, Fitness Instructors, Personal Trainers, Geriatric Caregivers, Home Health Aides, Patient Care Assistants, Hospital Attendants, Hairdressers, Hair Braiders, Make-up Artists, Tattoo Artists, Pedicurists, Manicurists, estheticians, and any other practitioners engaged in the Beauty and Wellness industry.

Presentations will be made by the Grenada Allied Health Professional Council, the National Training Agency, and the Grenada National Accreditation Board. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions following the presentations. The event will be livestreamed on Facebook through the Government Information Service.

The National Training Agency provides services which includes the issuing of the Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ) and National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) qualifications. Practitioners have the option of receiving certification through the NTA’s Assessment of Prior Learning (APL) Programme which assesses and certifies a candidate for knowledge and skills learned in an occupation over time through informal learning and experience.
