The Grenada Chamber of Industry and Commerce is hosting the Network of Caribbean Chambers (CARICHAM) face-2-face Meeting here in Grenada. CARICHAM comprises twenty-four Chambers throughout the region including Surinam, Haiti, Martinique, St. Kitts & Nevis, Dominica, and Trinidad and Tobago. The meeting will be held at Royalton Grenada November 21 – 23 2022 under the theme; “Regional Private Sector Collaboration for Business Continuity in A Rapidly Evolving Global Business Environment”.
Our Prime Minister Hon. Dickon Mitchell will deliver remarks at the Opening Ceremony which will also be attended by government officials and the Board of Directors of the Grenada Chamber. Other attendees include representatives from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), the World Bank, United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), Climate Risk Early Warning Systems (CREWS) and disaster management and meteorological professionals regionally.
This meeting will be two-fold, it is geared toward building strategic initiatives for the members of CARICHAM for the next three years. The aim is to ensure maximum benefits to all member Chambers and their constituent members, to develop working relationships with regional stakeholders such as the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) and the World Bank. Additionally, UNDRR representatives will be carrying out a review of Multi Hazard Early Warning Systems for Enhanced Resilience. This discussion is extremely important considering the regions exposure to significant hazards and challenges of natural disasters.
The Grenada Chamber of Industry and Commerce anticipates a productive and engaging three-day event and welcomes all the participants to our island.
