Grace Lutheran School and First Choice Junior School splashed to victory in the CIBC-FCIB Primary Schools Swimming Championships 2018 which took place Thursday 7th and Friday 8th June. The Championship was organized by the Ministry of Sports, in collaboration with the Grenada Amateur Swimming Association (GASA).

The two days of exciting competition saw Grace Lutheran School amassing a total of 157.5 points to dethrone the 2017 winners Westmorland Junior School to capture the girls division title. Taking 2nd position was St. Mary’s Junior School (147 points) while former champs Westmorland took 3rd (141 points).

The combined team from the Sister Isles also put on a great show winning 9 medals (2 Gold, 3 Silver, and 4 Bronze) and the boys novice individual award. The Sister Isles concluded their swimming campaign 4th in the boys division and 13th in the girls division.

Over in the boys division, First Choice Junior School swam away with the boys division title by a 75 point margin from 2nd place. In the runner-up position was Westmorland Junior School on 140 points while the 2017 boys champs Alpha Junior School finished in 3rd with 125 points.

• Boys Age 9 to 10: Aidan Mc Intosh – St. Mary’s Junior School
• Girls Age 11-&-Over: Jalena Coutain – Beacon Junior School
• Boys Age 11-&-Over: Nathan Fletcher – First Choice Junior School

Over two hundred and sixty (260) students from twenty-two (22) primary schools across Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique converged at the Good Hope Pool to compete in forty-six (46) events.
