Newest Lottery Agents In 2017
6 More Lottery-Sellers Added
ST. GEORGE’S – MARCH, 2017 – In its continued quest to make lottery products more easily accessible to players, the National Lotteries Authority (NLA) has added 6 more sellers to its agent-base.
On Thursday, 16th March, 2017, the NLA trained and certified thirteen (13) persons in operating lottery sales terminals, using the Abrazo Technology System; and on having acquired sufficient knowledge to promote and sell the NLA’s lottery products that are currently offered to the public. Seven (7) businesses were represented, including one existing agent.
The new agents which are spread among three (3) parishes within Grenada are: Village Mini-Mart of Mirabeau in St. Andrew’s; A & L Grocery Shop of La Mode, Ghitt & Sons of Snell Hall, Supreme Cutz of River Sallee, and Tevin’s Bar of Mt. Rose in St. Patrick’s; and Best Shop in St. George’s. Also trained was an additional sales clerk from Trini Shoppe located on Grenville Street in St. George’s – an agent focused on providing more efficient service to players.
As of Thursday, 24th March, the new agents will be equipped to sell all lottery products at their specific business locations.
Speaking at the ceremony in which the certificates were handed out to the newly trained personnel, Marketing Manager of the NLA – Ms. Reecè Sam congratulated the recipients and welcomed them to the NLA family. “We look forward to a mutually-beneficial business relationship with each of you. The more you sell, the bigger your commissions will be; and, so too, we would be able to provide even more benefits to our beloved Tri-Island State.”
The NLA is said to be in receipt of numerous applications monthly, and some are located in close proximity to each other. Ms. Sam explained that all applications are given equal attention by the Marketing department via assessment, testing and analytical recommendation processes. “The applicant that best fits the criteria within a specific vicinity, is selected for training and receipt of a contract and sales terminal.” A major challenge for the NLA in recruiting additional agents is the availability of online sales terminals to match the number of potentially-lucrative business opportunities. These businesses, however, have the opportunity to become offline sellers, meaning: they can sell Scratch only and receive a 10% commission on sales. Currently, the NLA is distributing 5 Scratch games; and have recently launched two new ones with top-prizes of EC$10,000.00 each, namely: Gold Fever and EC$10,000 Gold Rush.
