The OAS Department of Human Development in collaboration with the Government of Grenada is offering scholarships to pursue undergraduate, graduate academic studies and/or related research for the academic period 2018 to 2019.

Studies must be carried out on a full-time basis, and can be undertaken via on-site or online education, or a combination of both. The OAS Scholarship is awarded for a period of no more than two (2) academic years.

The undergraduate scholarships are offered to candidates as a self-placed scholarship, at a university or educational university of their choice for the last two (2) years of study.

For Graduate Scholarships candidates can either be:-

1. Participating in the OAS Consortium of Universities: Candidates apply directly to up to 3 programs in different universities which are a part of the OAS Consortium Universities, located in 3 different countries. Applicants are strongly encouraged to do so to increase their chances of being offered an OAS Scholarship.

Or

2. Not participating in the OAS Consortium of Universities: Candidates apply directly for admission to the universities or educational institutions of their choice, and preset their application for an OAS Scholarship

The benefits vary and are assigned on a case-by-case basis, and may include:

– Round trip ticket,

– Tuition and mandatory fees,

– Monthly complementary subsistence allowance,

– Medical insurance, and

– Yearly book allowance.

NB: The OAS/DHDE does not award scholarships for studies in the Medical Sciences or the learning of new languages.

For Undergraduate Scholarships, applicants must be:

1. Enrolled in the program of study and be eligible to graduate within 2 academic years from the date of the scholarship offer, or

2. Accepted in the university where he or she plans to study for the last two years of an undergraduate program that leads to a bachelor’s degree. Admission letter must state that the applicant will complete the program of studies within 2 academic years.

Requirements:

1. Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of an OAS Member State;

2. Applicants for graduate studies must have obtained a university degree by the time they submit their scholarship application;

3. Applicants must be in good physical and mental health to complete the programme successfully;

4. Applicants must possess the language competence to undertake studies in the country of study;

5. Applicants for on-site studies must agree to return to reside in the sponsoring country for a period of no less than twenty-four (24) months after completing the programme of study covered by the OAS scholarship. Applicants for online studies must agree to remain in the sponsoring country for the same period of time.

Three (3) copies of the completed application form. Certified copies of ALL academic certificates, letter of acceptance from university of the study program, front page of passport or birth certificate. All required documents must be submitted in groups of Three (3) to the Scholarship Desk, Ministry of Education & Human Resource Development, no later than Thursday March 29, 2018.
