Official Hand-over of Grand Anse Child Development Centre Refurbishment by Geo F. Huggins

On Thursday 20^th October, 2016, an official ceremony was held at the Grand Anse Child Development Centre, Maurice Bishop Highway for refurbishment works undertaken by Geo. F. Huggins & Co (G’da) Ltd – Automotive Division.

During the August holidays, the staff of Huggins Automotive Division embarked on a re-painting initiative of the Centre: both inside and outside. Additionally, proper signage was installed on the building, artwork installed on the outside walls and a playset erected. The aim was to uplift the environment of the Centre and make it more child friendly.

Almost 18 years ago, a relationship was born with Geo. F. Huggins Automotive Division and the Grand Anse Child Development Centre when Huggins overtook the maintenance of the grounds. To date, the support rendered by Huggins over the years has included copying stationary, copying artwork for the children, typing of letters to name a few; touching over 600 lives of children who attended the institution over the past 18 years.

As a corporate citizen, Geo. F. Huggins & Co (G’d) Ltd sees the need to support the community in which we operate and hence our support of the Grand Anse Child Development Centre over the last 18 years. It is our intent to continue our support to the Centre in what-ever way possible as we continue to touch the lives of staff and children of the Centre.
