Police Investigates Robbery in St. George Town

On Monday 14th November 2022, officers responded to a report of Robbery which occurred at a business establishment within the town of St. George.
Initial investigation revealed that a man entered the business place, approached a member of the staff, indicated that he possessed a Firearm, and demanded money. He eventually made off with a significant amount of cash.
Two men are currently in police custody assisting with investigations in this matter.
Meanwhile, Raynell Coutain, 22 years old, Diver and Ronaldo George, 22 years old, Construction Worker both of Telescope, St. Andrew were arrested and charged for the offences of Robbery with Violence and Possession of a Firearm, in connection with November 8th Robbery in the south of the island.
An additional charge of escaping lawful custody was laid against Mr. Coutain and Mr. George.
Both men appeared at the St. George’s Magistrate’s Court today and were granted bail in the sum of $100,000.00 with two sureties. As part of their bail conditions, they are to surrender all travel documents, report to Grenville Police Station daily and have no contact with the witnesses.
The matter was adjourned to March 27th 2023.
Also, Kelly Penny, 35 years, Carpenter of Boca, St. George, was arrested and charged with Non-Capital Murder, for causing the death of Chris Alfred on Sunday, November 13th.
Mr Penny appeared at the St. George’s Magistrate’s Court today and was remanded to His Majesty’s Prisons.
He will return to court on December 5th 2022.
