Prime Minister Congratulates Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda on Re-election
On behalf of the Government and People of Grenada, Prime Minister Dr. The Right Honourable Keith Mitchell congratulates Prime Minister Honourable Gaston Browne and his Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party on their re-election to the Government of Antigua and Barbuda.
Dr. Mitchell also congratulates the people of Antigua and Barbuda for the peaceful expression of their democratic rights, in strengthening their development thrust.
According to the newly elected Grenadian leader, Prime Minister Browne has “once again being given a tremendous mandate which he must never take for granted. The people of Antigua and Barbuda, like those of Grenada and the rest of the Region, deserve the best representation. In Antigua, they have shown that their trust lies in the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party to give them precisely that. My colleague, Gaston, therefore, needs to remain steadfast in ensuring every day that he is equal to that trust; just as I intend to do here in Grenada.”
Prime Minister Mitchell reiterates his personal support to the newly elected Browne, as well as that of the people of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique, and underscores his commitment to maintaining and advancing excellent relations with the Government and People of Antigua and Barbuda.
Honourable Gaston Browne and his incumbent Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party defeated the opposition United Progressive Party in the March 21st elections by winning 15 seats to the opposition’s 2.
