Raul Nicholson-Coe Takes Over as CEO for Digicel Cayman Islands
Martin Bould says farewell
Monday 8th May 2017– Cayman Islands: Digicel today announced the appointment of Raul Nicholson-Coe as Chief Executive Officer for its Cayman Islands operation effective June 1st 2017. In this role, Raul will have responsibility for driving all aspects of the business as it continues its transformation into a complete communications and entertainment provider.
Raul brings over twenty years’ experience having joined Digicel as Director of Business Development in 2009 before being promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2012. Prior to joining Digicel, Raul served in executive roles in some of the largest corporations in the Cayman Islands, including CEO for AT&T Wireless/Cingular operations and President and Chief Operating Officer for TeleCayman Limited.
Raul takes over from outgoing CEO, Martin Bould, who is currently ensuring a smooth handover before he leaves the business at the end of June.
Commenting on the transition, outgoing CEO Martin Bould, commented; “It was a fantastic opportunity to come to Cayman and lead the business here through this important period of change and help lay the foundations for the next stage of Digicel’s journey to become Cayman’s leading communications and entertainment provider. A Cayman Islands national, Raul currently serves on several Caymanian Boards including as a Trustee on the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce Pension Fund as well as member of the Cayman Islands Cycling Association, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Cayman Islands and the International College of the Cayman Islands. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Cayman Utilities Company (CUC) from 2001 to 2005 and Director of the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) from 2009 to 2014.
Commenting on his promotion, Raul said; “I look forward to working with the local and regional teams in this new capacity at a point when Digicel is transforming for the future. I am confident that Digicel’s capital investments will ensure that the Cayman Islands remains an attractive place for residents and visitors – as well as the preferred jurisdiction for international businesses to operate.”

Raul holds a Diploma in Telecommunications Engineering and has successfully completed executive management courses at the Wharton Business School as well MBA courses from Heriot Watt University.
