Say No to Violence Against Women: An Orange Presence on Broad Street
Bridgetown- On December 8th, 2020,Soroptimist International of Jamestown (SIJ)will be ramping up its activities for the United Nation’s 16 Days of Activism to End Gender-Based Violence with its “Say No to Violence Against Women: An Orange Presence” campaign along Broad Street. The Canadian Government funded IMPACT Justice Project and the Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO) have come on board to sponsor the event.
The special occasion will commence with the presentation of pins and orange ribbons to Members of Parliament as they attend the next parliamentary session at Worthing Corporate Centre on Tuesday morning. Then, between 10:30 am and 12:00 pm the campaign will get underway with three teams of Soroptimist lining Broad Street to distribute literature, promotional pins and key rings to raise awareness to the issue of gender-based violence.
The IMPACT Justice Project is pleased to collaborate with PAHO to support this initiative, which is one of many activities being held by Soroptimist International of Jamestown to commemorate the 16 Days of Activism to End Gender-Based Violence.
