St. Andrew resident Charged with Capital Murder, Remanded; Vincentian National Charged with Capital Murder, Remanded

Lyvon Date, 33 years, Unemployed of Griffith Lane, St. Andrew was arrested and charged by members of the Criminal Investigation Department, with Capital Murder, in connection with the death of Wayne Smart.
Mr. Smart, a Canadian Citizen, who had been residing in Grenada, was reported missing in December 2022. A police investigation was launched and had been ongoing.
On Friday March 31st, 2023, Mr. Date led police to an area on the beach front at River Sallee, St. Patrick where the police recovered what appears to be burnt human remains, believed to be the remains of Mr. Smart.
Mr. Date made his first court appearance today at the St. George’s No. 1 Magistrate’s Court and was remanded to His Majesty’s Prisons.
He will make his next court appearance at Sauteurs Magistrate’s Court on April 25th, 2023.
As a result of extensive investigations into the death of Jonathon Richards of Gouyave, St. John, police have arrested and charged Elton Elliston Andrew, a 30 years old, resident of St. Vincent & The Grenadines, with the offence of Capital Murder.
On Tuesday March 21, 2023, Jonathon Richards was brought into the General Hospital with several gunshots wounds. He passed away at the General Hospital that evening.
Mr. Andrew made his first court appearance at the St. George’s Magistrate’s Court today, and was remanded to His Majesty’s Prisons.
He will make his next court appearance at Gouyave Magistrate’s Court on April 24th, 2023.
