St. John’s Sports and SAFL to Clash in Finals of Sandals GFA U15 Championships
ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada – The highly anticipated finals of the Sandals Grenada Football Association (GFA) Under-15 National Championships will take place this Saturday at Morne Rouge. St. John’s Sports and GCCU SAFL earned their spots after winning their respective semifinal matches last weekend.
In the first semifinal, St. John’s Sports defeated Eagles Superstrikers 2-1 to advance to the championship match. GCCU SAFL won the second semifinal over Just Sports GBSS FC by a score of 4-2. Eagles Superstrikers and GBSS FC will face off in the third place play-off at 1:00 PM on Saturday, with the winner taking home the bronze medal. The final between St. John’s Sports and SAFL will kick off at 3:00 PM, where one team will be crowned the national U15 champions.
“We expected the victory based on our preparations and this is a moral booster for the team going into the final,” said Divonte Smith, captain of SAFL. Meanwhile capatin of St. John’s Sports says “Our players did very well and have worked hard all season and are ready to give it their all on Saturday.”
