ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, JULY 27, 2019 – GIS:  The Minister for Health, together with the Permanent Secretary, Management and Staff of Ministry of Health and in particular the General Hospital is deeply saddened by news of the passing of Dr. Winston Thomas.

Dr. Thomas died today in Cuba where he was receiving medical treatment.

He was an exemplary public officer who dedicated many years of service to the people of Grenada through his medical practice. At the time of his passing, Dr. Thomas was attached to the Accident and Emergency Department (Casualty) of the General Hospital in St. George’s where he worked for over twenty (20) years.

Today, the Ministry extends deepest condolences to his family, relatives, friends and staff of the Accident and Emergency Department (Casualty) of the General Hospital on his passing.

Health Minister, the Hon. Nickolas Steele, in paying tribute to Dr. Thomas said, “Today the General Hospital and by extension, the Ministry of Health and the Grenadian public has lost a true servant, a patriot and a dear friend”.

To his family, relatives, friends and colleagues, may the care and love of those around you provide comfort and peace to get you through the days ahead. May our prayers guide his soul to our Heavenly Father.
